- Served total of 12 years with H M Customs and Excise, of which 6 directly involved in all areas of VAT including investigation, assurance visits and training of new recruits.
- Joined an international accountancy practice in Manchester in 1993, responsible for advising corporate and public sector clients, undertaking reviews, projects and presentations across the broad spectrum of VAT.
- Joined a specialist VAT advisory firm in 1997 establishing a new client consultancy team in the North West.
- Joined current independent VAT practice in 1998 and is responsible for providing specialist VAT advisory services to businesses to comply with and obtain the best results from VAT legislation.
- Has advised a broad range of businesses on many complex VAT areas affecting property and development projects, partial exemption, liability issues and undertaken VAT accounting system reviews and staff training events and presentations.
- Appointed Company Director in 2001 with specific responsibility for personnel matters.
- Specialist areas include housing associations, charities and property developers.
- Colin has wide and varying interests away from work and these include producing artwork for historical comics and being the Treasurer of a local Scout Group.
